General Application

Please note: With the one exception noted below, study abroad programs sponsored by the undergraduate College of the University of Chicago are open to University of Chicago students only. Applications from outside the University are not accepted.

The one exception to this rule: The University of Chicago's program in Toledo is open to Northwestern University students. Such students should complete Chicago's General Application as well as the supplementary application specific to the Toledo Program. They should also complete whatever forms Northwestern itself requires of its students who will be studying abroad.

Admission decisions will be made and communicated to students via email by the beginning of spring-quarter.

This is the general application for all Chicago-sponsored programs abroad. If you are a student in good standing in the College of the University of Chicago, you are eligible to complete and submit this application. It must be submitted on-line. You should also complete the supplementary application specific to the program to which you are applying. A link to the supplementary applications is provided on this form.

Multiple applications: Students are permitted to submit up to three study abroad applications in a given academic year. (In this regard the collective applications for the British/Irish University Programs and the Civilization Programs each count as a single application.) Here are the steps:

1. In applying to the first program you complete and submit (on-line) the general application, then complete and submit (on paper) the supplementary application specific to that program.
2. If you wish to submit a second (or third) application, you do not need to re-submit the general application. Instead you proceed directly to the supplementary applications and complete and submit the supplementary application specific to the second (or third) program to which you are applying.
