Study Abroad applications for these 12 Thematic Programs are due on Monday, April 20, before 11:59 PM CT.

UChicago faculty-led thematic programs offer a range of courses across disciplines, some of which meet major, minor, or general education requirements. Participants also take a fourth course in the local language.

Winter 2027 Thematic Programs

• Hong Kong: Global Studies
• London: Democracy (Social Sciences Core)
• Paris: Cinema and Media Studies (Arts Core)
• Paris: Economics
• Paris: Global Health

Ranking Alternates: Students should apply to their first-choice Winter thematic program and, if interested, may rank alternate thematic programs from the Winter list within their application.

Spring 2027 Thematic Programs

• Barcelona: Public Policy
• Paris: Astronomy (Physical Sciences Core)
• Paris: Human Rights
• Paris: Mathematics
• Paris: Philosophy
• Paris: Psychology
• Paris: Urbanism

Ranking Alternates: Students should apply to their first-choice Spring thematic program and, if interested, may rank alternate thematic programs from the Spring list within their application.

Note about Application Deadlines: Winter and Spring thematic programs typically have an early deadline and a late deadline. We encourage interested students to apply by this first deadline—your chances of admission are increased by doing so.
