Sarah Walter is Director of Study Abroad and Associate Dean for International Education in the College. She joined the Office of Study Abroad in 2007 as a Program Coordinator and assumed the role of Director in 2011. In this capacity, she oversees the development and administration of a diverse and growing portfolio of study abroad programs and is the primary liaison to the University’s Center in Paris. As an undergraduate, Sarah spent a year studying abroad in Tours, France, where she lived with a host family and solidified her deep passion for French cheese and bread. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in French from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s Degree in the Humanities from the University of Chicago. Prior to working in international education, Sarah taught French and Humanities courses in Chicago-area community colleges. Outside of work, she tries to keep pace with her two young boys and enjoys exploring Chicago’s many neighborhoods.
