Michaela Foreman is a Program Manager in the Study Abroad Office and a dedicated advocate for equitable education. Her research focuses on the intersections of critical race media literacy, technology, identity, and curriculum development in K-12 schools and higher education. At her core, Michaela values equity, accessibility, diversity, innovation, and intellectual curiosity to inspire and effect change.

Her journey into study abroad began as a Girl Scout, studying abroad in Costa Rica, and continued through her high school and college years, with experiences in Paris, Madrid, Dubai, South Africa, Austria, Peru, and Indonesia. Michaela leverages her extensive travel and research to address systemic education issues, aiming to improve access to scholarships, travel opportunities, and mentorship for minority students.

She is committed to building belonging-based systems that empower youth in under-resourced and minority communities.

In her free time, Michaela loves reading, trying new restaurants, attending concerts, jet setting around the world, and going on long walks with her sweet pitbull Frankie.
