Naira Ovsepyan is a Program Manager in the Office of Study Abroad. She joined the team in August 2019 after completing her Master’s Degree in International Education Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and a practicum at Northwestern University. Naira has been interested in foreign languages and cultures from a young age, and had her first, unofficial “study abroad” experience at the age of ten, when she moved to the U.S. from Turkmenistan. When she was a senior at UW-Madison, she participated in two intensive study abroad programs in Russia that had a lasting impact on her life. This experience also inspired her to work at American Councils for International Education, where she coordinated foreign language assessment projects and developed language proficiency tests for several years. In her free time, Naira enjoys exploring new places, spending time with her family and playing table tennis.
