Sarah Walter is Senior Associate Dean for International Initiatives in the College. She joined the Office of Study Abroad in 2007 as a Program Coordinator and served as Director from 2011-2023. As Senior Associate Dean, Sarah provides broad oversight for the College’s international programs and partnerships, including primary responsibility for the Center in Paris. As an undergraduate, Sarah spent a year studying abroad in Tours, France, where she lived with a host family. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in French from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s Degree in the Humanities from the University of Chicago. Prior to working in international education, Sarah taught French and Humanities courses in Chicago-area community colleges. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and exploring Chicago’s many neighborhoods with her family.
